Deep Roots Newsletter Volunteers Needed: Hello everyone, We are holding our fundraiser for the 6th annual Deep Roots Music Festival on June 20th, 2009. We would love to get some volunteers out to help run the event including managing the door, selling 50/50 tickets, and running the raffle. If you have any time to help out on Saturday, please let me know by email or phone. The fundraiser will run from 2:00 pm until Paddy?s Pub in Kentville closes at approximately 12:00 p.m. If you have a couple of hours to spare to watch some great bands and help generate excitement and funds for the upcoming festival, it will be appreciated! This volunteer time will count towards the total volunteer hours generated that can earn you a free festival pass. If you are going to other music festivals or musical events, remember: ?Guerrilla marketing works!? Take Deep Roots flyers with you and circulate them in the crowds or leave them at concessions booths, or post them on bulletin boards Let us know how many you will need when and we?ll get them ready for you! So far we think we have these festivals covered: Stanfest, Canmore, Centre Burlington. We need people to help us spread the word at: Evolve (end of July), Kempt Shore (mid July), Harmony Bazaar (Lockeport - www.harmonybazaar.com ), and many others. Please let us know if you can help. FINAL REMINDER: Early Bird passes: We're in the home stretch for selling our tickets at a reduced rate. If you have friends or family members who want to enjoy the full festival "for a song", buy now. Festival passes are available only until July 1 at $75 - they will be $85 after that. Once you have gone to www.deeprootsmusic.ca and seen the lineup for the 2009 Festival, please consider inviting people to come to Deep Roots with you and promote the sale of Early Bird passes. Your pass gets you access to all four main stage concerts at a savings of 25%. Remember to purchase your pass by the end of June as the early bird price of $75 ends on July 1, 2009. The Festival Committee has a few openings for Managers: The following management positions need to be filled for 2009: Environmental Program Manager (Green Team; under Emma Hebb's tutelage), Green Rooms Manager (performer hospitality on-site at venues - under Donna-Lynne Holmes's tutelage), Meals Manager (co-ordinating with the chef and with the kitchen volunteers to provide meals for performers and volunteers - under Kate Custeau's tutelage). Anyone who is interested to hear how the festival planning is coming along or who thinks they might like to get involved (as a manager or otherwise!), contact me (Lisa Hammett Vaughan), or just come out to a Festival Committee meeting.
